Equipment Slots

Overview

Your character has 12 equipment positions (plus inventory at position 0), each designed for a specific type of gear. Understanding what goes where — and the maximum upgrade levels for each slot — is essential for planning your character progression.

Stat Requirements

Every piece of equipment has minimum Strength and Agility requirements. You must meet both to equip the item:

  • Strength — Required for heavy armor, melee weapons, shields
  • Agility — Required for light armor, ranged weapons, boots

Class Restrictions

Items also have class requirements. A Trojan cannot equip a Bow (Archer-only, class 40), and an Archer cannot equip a Katana (Ninja-only, class 50). Most weapons have class requirement 0 (any class can equip). Backswords are restricted to Taoists (class 190).

Socketable Equipment

Sockets can be opened on most equipment using Drills (ToughDrills for equipment, StarDrills for weapons):

  • Head, Necklace, Armor, Weapons, Ring, Boots — Support regular gem sockets (any gem except Thunder/Glory)
  • Fan (Position 10) — Only accepts Thunder Gems
  • Tower (Position 11) — Only accepts Glory Gems
  • Garment, Bottle, Steed — Cannot be socketed

Upgrade Priority

When deciding what to upgrade first, follow this general priority:

  1. Main Weapon (Position 4) — Biggest impact on damage output
  2. Off-hand Weapon / Shield (Position 5) — Second weapon for Trojans, shield for Warriors
  3. Armor (Position 3) — Largest defense boost
  4. Helmet (Position 1) — Good defense value
  5. Boots (Position 8) — Speed and dodge
  6. Ring (Position 6) — Attack bonuses
  7. Necklace (Position 2) — Magic defense
  8. Talismans (10/11) — Socket for Thunder/Glory gems

Tip

Always upgrade your weapon first — the damage increase far outweighs the defense gain from armor upgrades. A +8 weapon with Normal armor will outperform a +0 weapon with +8 armor every time.
