- Sockets can be opened on most equipment (Head, Necklace, Armor, Weapons, Ring, Boots) using Drills
- Slot 2 can only be filled after Slot 1 has a gem
- Removing a gem from Slot 1 automatically moves the Slot 2 gem down
- Fan (Position 10) can ONLY accept Thunder Gems
- Tower (Position 11) can ONLY accept Glory Gems
- Socket values:
0= no socket,255= empty socket (ready for a gem)
Super Gem Combat Effects
Only Super-quality gems trigger special effects during combat. Effects use a two-stage trigger check (10% then 5%, for approximately 0.5% overall chance):
| Super Gem | Combat Effect |
|---|---|
| Super Phoenix Gem | Phoenix fire damage visual effect |
| Super Dragon Gem | Dragon damage visual effect |
| Super Rainbow Gem | Rainbow special effect |
| Super Moon Gem | Moon MP restoration effect |
| Super Violet Gem | Violet defense effect |
| Super Kylin Gem | Kylin combat effect |
| Super Tortoise Gem | Additional damage reduction effect |
Important: Gem Slot Restrictions
Thunder Gems can only be placed in the Fan slot (Position 10), and Glory Gems can only be placed in the Tower slot (Position 11). Regular gems (Phoenix, Dragon, etc.) can be placed in any other socketed equipment but cannot go in Fan or Tower slots.
Best Gems by Class

| Warrior | Tortoise, Phoenix, Dragon | Damage reduction (full 50% cap for Warriors), attack |
| Archer | Phoenix, Rainbow, Dragon | Attack power, XP bonus, damage |
| Ninja | Phoenix, Dragon, Tortoise | Attack, damage, survivability |

Tortoise Gem Class Difference

Tip
Don't forget your Talisman slots! Thunder Gems in your Fan and Glory Gems in your Tower provide significant offensive and defensive bonuses respectively. A Super Thunder Gem gives +500 damage increase.
